The Appraisal Decision

Know the worth of your possessions.  Avoid over or under insuring your valuables.  Be in a position to substantiate an insurance claim.  Be assured of the equitable distribution of your property amongst your heirs. Have your valuables appraised before a “house tag/estate sale” or “offer to buy outright” by dealers.  Maximize tax deductions.   Beware of offers for free appraisal services from dealers, collectors or consignment shops, or any party who may have a financial interest in your property!

Because of the financial impact a certified appraisal can have on valuable property, choosing an appraisal professional should be done with great care.

Bartlett & Picarella’s knowledgeable appraisal specialists, who examine thousands of objects annually, provide accurate and timely appraisals based upon their combined decades of experience and knowledge of the ever-changing fine art and antiques marketplace.
